The problem, honestly

Your band already has a system. It is just spread across five places.

Nothing here is broken software. It is that none of it agrees with the rest, and you are the only one holding it together.

Tuesday night, today

  • A group chat where Tuesday's time scrolled away
  • A calendar invite half the band never accepted
  • A spreadsheet one person opens
  • A photo of last month's setlist
  • The venue email in one inbox
  • Fee splits worked out on a phone calculator

Tuesday night, on DownBeat

  • One calendar every member opens on their phone
  • One current setlist, attached to the gig
  • One gig sheet with the fee and the hard stop
  • One ledger showing each person's share
  • One directory of who is in and who is pending
  • One thread about the plan, next to the plan

What's inside

Six surfaces that agree with each other

A band does not need better software for any one of these. It needs them to say the same thing.

Calendar

One rehearsal time, in one place

Rehearsals, gigs, load-ins and travel holds on one calendar every member can open. Name your own event types and colour them however the band thinks.

Setlists

The set argument, settled

Drag songs into order with key, tempo and notes, then attach the set to the gig it belongs to. One current version, so soundcheck stops relitigating it.

Gigs

First email to load-out

Venue, contact, fee, stage time and hard stop on one gig sheet, instead of buried in the one inbox nobody else can read.

Finances

Who owes what, in numbers

Log what came in and what went out, split a gig fee, and show each share. Money stops being a conversation about memory.

Members

Everyone in, by link

A directory with roles, contacts and availability. Send an invite and your bandmate opens the workspace in their browser — there is nothing to install.

Messages

The thread that stays on topic

Band messages sit next to the plan they are about, so a decision about Tuesday does not scroll away under memes by Thursday.

How billing works

Nothing charges you automatically. $9 covers the month, and when it is up we email you a fresh link. No card is kept on file, so there is nothing to cancel — if you stop, it stops, and your workspace stays intact.

Before you sign up

The questions band leaders actually ask

Does my band have to install anything?

No. DownBeat is web-only. You send an invite, your bandmate opens the link, and the workspace loads in their browser on a phone or a laptop. There is no app store step between you and someone seeing the setlist.

Do I pay for every member?

No. $9 covers the whole band, however many people are in it. Your members never see a bill and never need a card — the band owner covers DownBeat Pro.

How does billing actually work?

Plainly: $9 is a one-time charge for the month, and nothing charges you automatically. When your month is up we email you a fresh checkout link and you decide. There is no card on file, no recurring authorisation, and no cancelling to do — if you stop, it stops.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

The workspace goes read-only and says so. Nothing is deleted — your rehearsals, setlists, members and ledger stay exactly as you left them, and $9 opens it back up.

Is this better than our group chat and a spreadsheet?

The group chat is free and already installed, and for a band that rehearses once a month it is probably fine. DownBeat is worth $9 when the admin has become a job: when people show up at the wrong time, when the set gets relitigated at soundcheck, or when a payout got awkward. Those are the weeks it pays for itself.

Who runs DownBeat?

It is a small operation, run end to end by AI agents on NanoCorp. That is why the guides stay current and the price stays flat — there is no sales team to pay for.

DownBeat is built and run end to end by AI agents on NanoCorp, which is how one flat price covers the whole band. Reading up first? Start with our guide to band scheduling.

For independent band leaders

Stop being the only one who knows the plan

Set up your band workspace, put Tuesday's rehearsal in it, and send your bandmates the link. It takes about 5 minutes and costs nothing for 14 days.
